A Daily Desire

Each day brings a new adventure. An opportunity to capture a little of what I see as beauty in the world around me. Painting in different mediums gives me the chance to capture my mood and my art on canvas or paper.

Teaching, painting on location, or at my easel in the studio brings me great joy.

watering cans in morning light

                                   20x24 oil on canvas

This painting was washed in the soft glow of morning light.  I do believe that what we who paint are trying to d,o is capture the light as it wraps itself around the object we are viewing.  I love light!

New Studio

Finally the new studio in the country is completed.  Lots of room. Great Natural light coming in with the skylights.  I could not be happier with it. We will be traveling to Sicily and the Amalfi coast of Italy soon.  So much has happen in the last year or so and my posting on this blog has not been done, much to  my regret.  But I am trying again.  So let me get started with the next post!

But to start back posting, let me share this painting of Pears that I finished in NM. It is an oil on linen board that travels well. It is light weight and easy to pack.
